Pinkified Chair

Slowly but surely we are making progress on my Diva's bedroom. I want light pink and white with splashes of France; she wants hot pink and black with FRANCE on top. I am sneaking in my look. Shhh don't tell her. Here is her desk chair before:

I picked up along with two others off of Craigslist. They were all FREE. The seat is a creamy color and I actually like it. I attempted to make my own chalk paint using Sherwin Williams Amour Pink (to match the desk). It worked well except for on the seat where it was a little varnished. I taped a stripe down the center first.

After I was finished I rubbed a layer of Minwax on it. I tried to use some silver paint I had on hand, but it was way too light. Off to the locally owned craft store. I used my 40% off coupon and bought a silver paint pen to accent some of the woodwork. I also used transfer paper to draw a letter D on for Diva, I mean Delia.  Instant fabu:

I love it and so does she. I am winning this battle!
